About
ABOUT
Paw Prints Charming is a lifestyle pet photography business owned and operated by Hillary Kladke. She's a Lifestyle Pet Photographer in the Central Florida area and she's dedicated to capturing and photographically preserving your precious pet's unique paw-sonality. What's a Lifestyle Pet Photographer? I photograph your pets in natural light (no studio!) in your home or in a special place that you and your pet(s) love to hang out. Animals don't belong in a studio! They belong in a more natural environment, like your home, backyard or other favorite hangout spot. During the shoot, I want your pet to be comfortable, happy, and most importantly, I want you and your pet to have tons of fun!Do you have specific questions about what will happen during your session? Please click the "Session Details" tab at the top of the page to see some Frequently Asked Questions or email me your question at pawprintscharming_gmail.com.In terms of pricing, what you see is what you get! The session fee is the ONLY fee you'll ever have to pay. There are no hidden charges and you aren't required to buy anything from me afterward. I understand that in this day and age of sharing everything electronically, you'll want the digital negative of your photos so you can share them with everyone you know (and, believe me, you'll want to!). I allow you to download all of the photos from your session straight to your computer, watermark free, so you can keep them forever in their original condition and use them however you please. This also gives you the option of, even years from now, getting prints made of your photos from the company of your choice!About the photographer:I know this is clichè for every pet photographer to say, but I absolutely love animals (and photography!). I'm a big dork when it comes to animals, especially dogs. I can't walk by a dog without gawking at him/her or getting excited! I frequently volunteer with two local animal rescues and I plan to own and operate my own animal rescue in the near future. I'm a tea and coffee addict (caffeine!), a Florida Gator, and I love Walt Disney World. I'm currently owned by one beautiful 12-year-old mutt (Daisy), a feisty Betta fish (Ebo), and two crazy fancy rats (Ernie and Bert). In addition to being an avid animal lover, I'm also a journalist. I'm currently pursuing my degree in Journalism at the University of Florida and I've worked at the Orlando Sentinel. As a journalist, I try to capture the real, raw side of your pet; the side of your pet that only you know and love. My belief is that each and every photograph should speak for itself and tell a story, whether that story is your pet's story or you and your pet's story. Each photo should capture the unique soul of your pet. Most of all, every photo from your session should make you smile for years and years to come, even after your pet has crossed over to the Rainbow Bridge. - Hillary Kladke

Session Details
SESSION DETAILS AND FAQ
1. What will happen at the photoshoot? Every session begins with a "get to know you" phase. During this easing in stage, I'll introduce your pet to my camera. If they are fearful/shy/nervous of my camera, I will try to associate good things with the camera, like lots of love, cuddles and treats! I have a shy camera dog (and I've worked with tons of fearful shelter animals), so I've learned many different techniques to get your pet to open up during their session. Only when your pet is ready for the camera will I begin our session! This time spent getting to know your pet will not interfere with the "shooting time" that I have set aside for your session. Typically, sessions run a little longer than scheduled, so please schedule the rest of your day keeping this in mind. We both want your pet to act naturally and having this little bit of "getting to know you" time is the best way to do it! The entire shoot will be done at your pet's pace or at a comfortable distance from them. After the "get to know you" phase is over, we'll begin our session! During the session, I will do whatever you and your pet want to do. If you want me to shadow you during a walk, I'll gladly do that. If you want me to photograph your dog romping in your yard, I will gladly do that also. We can discuss specific details once you book your session. 2. What happens after the session? After we wrap up our session, I'm going to need time to edit the photos from your shoot. Depending on how busy things are, I am typically able to edit the best of your photos in two weeks. While you're waiting (and I know how hard the wait can be!), you should keep an eye on my blog (link is at the bottom of the website) because a few days after your shoot, you'll get to see a preview of some of your photos! You can also regularly check out my Facebook (also linked at the bottom of the website) because I will also post some session previews there. Once I have ALL of the best photos edited, I will get in contact with you and give you access to your own online, private gallery (requires a special password) where you and your friends can view your collection of photos from the shoot. In this private, online gallery, you'll have the option of purchasing products (through SmugMug, not me) OR you'll have the option of downloading FULL sizes of all the images in your gallery.3. Why would I want to download images from my online gallery? So you can share your photos on Facebook, your blog, print them out on your own computer, or even, years from now, have prints or canvases made from the downloaded images. Really, it's up to you what you do with the images. If you download the images to your computer, you'll have the photos from your shoot for years to come in their original digital format, which means that they'll never get old or get lost. 4. How should I pay you? On the day of your scheduled session, your entire session fee is due in the form of a cheque or cash. I do not have the ability to process credit cards, so payment MUST be in the form of a cheque or cash. I also WILL NOT have change, so please have the exact amount ready if you are paying with cash.5. How many photos can I expect to see in my online gallery? It depends on the session and the number of locations you choose. For a 1 hour session, you will have at least 20 edited photos in your gallery (usually the number is MUCH higher than this). The number increases when number of locations increase, number of pets increase, time increases, etc. Really, it all depends on the specifics of your session. 6. Will you turn away a shy/fearful/hyper animal? Definitely not! If your pet is hyper, we'll let him calm down a bit, unless you WANT me to capture his high energy level, that is! If a pet is shy/fearful, even after the initial "get to know you" phase, I'll work from a distance that's comfortable with the animal, or you and I will come up with something that will work for everyone. Through my rescue work, I've worked with many different types of animal personalities, so I'll try to use all the tricks I know to get your pet to open up. 7. How are you different from every other pet photographer in the Central Florida area? My pricing is low, I'm willing to travel and my photography is 100% natural. If your dog likes to play ball, I'll photograph your dog playing ball. If you and your dog like to hike through the woods, I'll photograph you and your dog photographing through the woods! If your pet likes to lounge around and be lazy, then I'll photograph him/her being lazy. Think of it as me following you and your pet around for the day. No studio!8. Should I bring anything? Yes! Please bring/have on hand your pet's FAVORITE treats and their favorite toys! Sometimes I'll supply treats (usually for the longer sessions), but having something that your pet is used to is always helpful. I've found that people like to use their own treats. If you want me to bring a variety of my own treats, I will. Just request it! I usually bring a few different types of noises too (clicker, squeaky toy). If you wish to have "posed" photos, then please bring your own props and I'll gladly photograph your pet in the props. Also, bring water for you and your pet if we're going to a specific location other than your house and bring a form of payment because you will be paying for the session on the day of your scheduled shoot.9. What does "on location" mean? I've found that animals are typically very fearful of a studio environment, so I like to photograph them in more "natural" locations. The location(s) is of YOUR choosing. It could be your home, a favorite dog park, your back yard, the street corner, the forest, a bustling city, the beach, etc. If you can't come up with a location(s), then please feel free to ask me for suggestions. I have a few places that I use as backups and I'm more than willing to work with you anywhere! The further the location, however, the more the price of gas will be! Good news: your home and backyard count as ONE location! 10. I'd like to have a session in my home. How should I prepare? Once I get to your home, we will scout out well-lit rooms. If you have a specific room in mind, please be sure that it's free from clutter and the lighting is adequate. I do not bring my own lighting equipment, so I'm going to be using whatever light is in the room! Bright colors are always good. If we're using your yard, make sure it's also uncluttered and there are shady spots. Shady spots are a MUST. It's up to you whether or not you mow the lawn :) 11. Do I have to have my dog off-leash for the shoot? No! Definitely not. In fact, I suggest you keep your dog leashed (unless we're in a closed, fenced area), unless you can trust your dog 100% off-leash. If you can't trust your dog off-leash, please leash your dog during our session. It's very easy for me, if you want me to, to digitally edit out the leash for your finished photos. I want your dog to be safe! 12. I don't have a dog. I have an exotic animal (or a cat) I'd like you to photograph. That's okay! I photograph all sorts of animals and I'd be happy to photograph your pet! 13. Can I be in the photos with my pet? Yes! In fact, I ENCOURAGE it! Some people don't like being in front of the camera and that's okay too. You can jump into the photos at any time (I rarely do posed photos) and I'll capture that special bond between you and your pet. 14. What should I wear to my session? If you want to be photographed with your dog, then wear something you'd want to be photographed in. If you don't want to be in the photos, then wear something casual! This photo session is nothing formal and it's all about having fun, so wear whatever makes you comfortable. 15. Do you do breeder sessions? Yes! Just get in contact with me and we can work out a price.
